Or what do you **** the most. Among my many issues with this show, the one thing I **** the most is how the CSI team does everything from arrest, collection of evidence, interrogation, and arrest.

Groshan Fabiola asked:

Gary Dourdan has been a mainstay on the CBS hit drama CSI: Crime Scene Investigation since it premiered back in October of 2000. He plays Warrick Brown in the ensemble cast which includes veterans William Peterson, Marg Helgenberger and Paul Guilfoyle. The original series set in Las Vegas, has been a consistent top rater and is still the strongest and most solid of the three CSI shows. CSI has given rise to two spin-offs, CSI: Miami and CSI: NY.

CSI has become the premier forensic drama series since it started and while many have followed in its steps, the Las Vegas show continues to set the bar, not only for its franchise but for the genre as well.

There have been upsides and downsides to the show’s success and popularity. The science of forensics has gained a massive following due to the show’s focus and format. Dourdan recounts that he has received mixed feedback regarding the impact of the show. He recalls how young fans, especially kids, have approached him to ask about forensic criminology while law enforcers have expressed some frustration over the amount of inside information criminals can gather from the episodes. “There’s some good and bad to it I suppose,” Dourdan explained. “That’s what we get from law enforcement all the time, criminals watch our shows, this is what to see what not to do!” Because of the highly specific and scientific elements to the forensics involved in the show’s episodes, many trade secrets and investigative tools have become public knowledge, potentially giving would-be criminals and lawbreakers an edge at eluding capture and persecution.

Despite some of the drawbacks, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation remains a formidable force in the ratings game. It is also the only one of the three CSI shows to retain all of its original cast throughout its seven seasons. This has allowed its stars, including Dourdan, to learn a great deal about the world of forensic criminology. He says that despite its run, there hasn’t been a shortage of new things to assimilate and learn because the writers and producers are always giving them new material, stories, plots and science to work with.

Daniel Zoleta asked:

C.S.I is an innovative, new type of crime drama because the characters use cutting-edge forensic tools to examine the evidence to solve the case. Heading up the team is Gil Grissom, senior forensics officer at the Criminalists Bureau. His team consists of Catherine Willows, Nick Stokes, Warrick Brown, Sara Sidle and Captain Jim Brass.

C.S.I: Crime Scene Investigation aired 167 episodes to date.

List of Characters on The Show:

Dr. Gilbert “Gil” Grissom, Ph.D. (William Petersen) – Known for being a thorough and methodical scientist, as well as for being a bit of a misanthropist. He is a night shift team supervisor for the Las Vegas CSI unit, and a forensic entomologist with a degree in biology from UCLA.

Catherine Willows (Marg Helgenberger) – Second-in-command of the night shift team. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from, UNLV.

Warrick Brown (Gary Dourdan) – A Las Vegas native and a chemistry major from UNLV, Brown is an audio/visual analyst. Warrick is also recovering from gambling addiction which is hindered by the fact he works in Las Vegas.

Sara Sidle (Jorja Fox) – A physics major at Harvard University. A materials and element analyst. She is completely devoted to her job and will go to almost any lengths to make sure justice is served, for both the victims and the criminals.

Captain James “Jim” Brass (Paul Guilfoyle) – Brass was the head of the CSI unit in Las Vegas until he was moved back to the police homicide division. He is now Captain in the homicide division and works closely with the CSI team.

CSI has been the number one scripted series in the Neilsen ratings for four years running. CSI is now in its 8th amazing season.

With the success of C.S.I Las Vegas, CBS went on to produce their own franchise starting in September 2002 with the spin-off C.S.I: Miami. Another spin-off debuted September 2004 with C.S.I: New York. Also, a number of comic books, video games and novels based on the series have been made.

Do “detectives” play a larger role in an investigation than is depicted in the CSI TV series?

visuospatial asked:

CSI seem to take on an entire case in the TV show, with little involvement of the detective. I realize it is a TV show, but in reality do CSI play as large and active a role in the investigation as depicted in the show?
